Himachal Pradesh Administrative Service (HPAS) Exam 2020

Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission has released notification of Himachal Pradesh Administrative Combined competitive exam 2019 on 21 January 2019. The notification has issued vacancy for 26 posts including 11 for HPAS, 6 for Block development officer and remaining for tehsildar, Principal and District food supply officer. The vacancy is highest ever in years, and provide golden opportunity for aspirants to secure Govt job in high echelons of govt. Though the opportunity is big, but it also require systematic preparation to crack the exam as difficulty level of the exam has increased over the years, with enhanced syllabus and dynamic questions being asked in prelims and mains.

According to new pattern the aspirant has to go through prelims which consist of two papers viz- General studies and other Aptitude test. while later is qualifying nature in which aspirant need to score minimum of 33% marks, former is counted for merit. In General studies exam total 100 objective questions are asked with 20 questions focusing on Himachal specific issues and rest based on National and international issues and General knowledge. Those who clear through the prelims are subjected to mains examination consisting of 7 papers with 3 papers of general studies ,1 paper of essay ,2 paper of a single optional subject and remaining two of English and Hindi(optional).

In these only first 5 are used for calculation of merit while rest 2 language paper are of qualifying nature.

Those who clear mains are subjected to interview after which consolidated list of successful candidates is made based on score in mains and interview over the years HPPSC has evolved the prelims and mains examination with focusing on conceptual understanding of topics rather than mere factual knowledge also questions are being asked from current affairs from 2-3 years back.
